doctor explaining Partial Hospitalization Program The partial hospitalization program (PHP) at Paramount Recovery is similar to our intensive outpatient program. However, patients in a PHP remain medically monitored during their visits to Paramount Recovery. Our partial hospitalization program provides a robust treatment schedule while allowing patients to return to their homes in the evenings. At Paramount Recovery Centers, our therapists will evaluate your needs for recovery and may recommend medication-assisted treatment as part of your drug treatment program.

Paramount Recovery’s onsite clinicians work to ensure that each patient makes a smooth transition into our partial hospitalization program for addiction treatment. We offer trauma-informed care for every patient who walks through our doors. During our admissions process, many of our patients at Paramount report having symptoms of anxiety, PTSD, depression, and other mental health concerns. Learn more about our post-treatment outcomes, and feel free to contact us if you are interested in becoming a patient or helping to facilitate the care of a loved one.

  • Creative expression
  • Individual therapy

Participants in our PHP learn skills to enhance day-to-day coping, develop healthy routines, and better manage symptoms. Treatment emphasizes mindfulness and acceptance-based therapy, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), as well as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). In addition to skills groups and 12-step work, participants receive medication management, individual treatment, and case management assistance. As guests transition through our partial hospitalization program, our end goal is always to help people work back to their established outpatient mental health programs to start living the lives they want. Substance use disorder does not need to be a life-defining condition.

What Is a Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy Group?

In Paramount Recovery’s partial hospitalization program, we usually begin the day with a group therapy session. Patients will arrive via personal transportation or through transportation coordinated in our sober living program. Morning mindfulness groups are facilitated by a group leader who guides the conversation and helps people predict and work through potential roadblocks for the day. The group will also discuss current events—both within our treatment center and in our Southborough, MA community. Approaching each day with presence and purpose is our main goal in this group throughout the following activities:

  • Mindfulness and cognition exercises
  • Review of the day’s schedule
  • Skill focus
  • Current events
  • Structured check-ins
  • Group discussion

Please adhere to the following guidelines when attending Paramount Recovery’s partial hospitalization program:

  • Be on time
  • Turn off phones
  • Show respect by listening actively, participating, and using respectful body language
  • Schedule outside appointments outside of treatment
  • No drugs or alcohol (this includes prescribed medications)
  • No verbal or physical threats
  • No acts of theft
  • Keep discussions confidential
